Herne Bay: Man 'threatened with spanner' in Dering Road

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of threatening a man with a spanner.

The incident is believed to have happened in a park in Dering Road, Herne Bay just before 4pm on Saturday.

The victim, a man in his 20s, said he was verbally abused before being threatened with the tool.

A spanner was seized and a 15-year-old boy from Herne Bay was arrested on suspicion of assault and possessing an offensive weapon.

He has since been released pending further investigations.

No injuries were reported.

Police believe there were several witnesses and have appealed for information.
