Travellers move into two sites in Herne Bay

Work is ongoing to remove travellers who have set up camp over two sites in Herne Bay.

Canterbury City Council has announced caravans and vehicles have moved into the Neptune car park and Memorial Park.

Enforcement officers are currently at the scene.

Caravans at Neptune car park (2867038)

There are currently five caravans at Neptune car park, and four at Memorial Park.

In a tweet, Canterbury City Council said: "Police have attended both sites and our enforcement officers will monitor the situation.

"We will work as quickly as the law allows to remove them."

Police have been asked to comment.
