HERNE BAY Angling Association host their annual Beach Classic competition at the weekend. The top prize is a guranteed £1,000.

Between 150 and 200 anglers are expected to compete in two zones, at Bishopstone and Reculver.

The event is limited to 200 anglers and providing there are still places available entries will be accepted on the day at the clubhouse.

Fishing will be from 9am and 2pm with booking in from 7 am at the club’s headquarters. Prospects look excellent, providing that the existing forcasts for the weekend are correct.

However, if the water remains gin clear, as it was last weekend, then competitors will be scratching for fish.
