Whitstable Wanderers (Green) take on AFC Canterbury (Yellow) in the Junior Section of the Faversham Charity Cup

Teams from the Herne Bay & Whitstable Sunday League were in cup action last weekend.

Bridge’s interest in the Kent Junior Trophy ended at Hawkinge. Goals from Phil Punyer and Tony Huggins could not prevent their team from going down 3-2.

Field and Rising Sun produced a thrilling spectacle in the Challenge Cup. With the teams level 3-3 after extra-time, Rising Sun won 6-5 on penalties. Field’s goals came from Adam Oxberry (2) and John Goodwin, with Sun replying through Scott Drake, Micky Lane and Lee Austin (penalty).

The Tommy Coulter Cup second round tie between Bay Wanderers and Waterfront also went into extra-time, but penalties were avoided when Waterfont’s Luke Lockhart put through his own net to give Bay a 5-4 win.
