Biker airlifted to London hospital after crash on A259 Dymchurch Road between Dymchurch and Hythe

A biker has been airlifted to a London hospital after a crash between Dymchurch and Hythe.

The A259 Dymchurch Road was closed in both directions between Botolphs Bridge Road and Redoubt Way shortly after 2.20pm.

Police were called to the scene and no other vehicles were involved.

A spokesman from Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a one-vehicle collision involving a motorbike on the Dymchurch Road, near the junction with Redoubt Way, Romney Marsh at 2.20pm.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and an air ambulance and a man was flown to a London hospital.

"The road was closed while the incident was responded to but reopened at 4.35pm."
