A would-be burglar was seen off by the 80-year-old female resident of the home he was attempting to raid.

Police have released an Efit of a man they would like to trace in connection with the burglary in Hythe last month.

The man broke into a flat in Sir John Moore Avenue, Hythe, but fled empty-handed when he was confronted by the 80-year-old woman who lives there.

The offender is described as a man of 'rugged' complexion, 5ft 2in tall, of average build. He had a pointed face and heavy stubble.
