Spring has sprung and this month’s column is all about new beginnings – to be read in the style of RADA actor with much flourishing of limbs.

But first I must look back to share with you the best way to celebrate the season and the promise in the air – the IoD trip to Hadlow College.

If you didn’t join us you missed out, we all came away with a new understanding of Hadlow College and their future plans – which are big.

UK Finance Director of the Year winner in the public sector Mark Lumsdon-Taylor welcomed us with bacon butties and just the right amount of information to generate an inquisitive discussion before a VIP visit to witness something very unusual.

We were blessed to see a sheep giving birth to twins right in front of us, something only reserved for IoD members.

Back to the new beginnings. We would like to welcome our new marketing partners MacIntyre Hudson who join Warners, KM Group and Adams Creative as our headline supporters.

MHA MacIntyre Hudson is a top 20 UK accounting firm, offering a full range of compliance and advisory services to entrepreneurial businesses, groups and multinationals.

The firm has 74 partners and 500 staff in 13 offices in London and the South East, and across East Anglia and the Midlands.

MHA Macintyre Hudson partners Richard Kreffer and Michael Moore, left, with the rest of the Macintyre Hudson team

MHA MacIntyre Hudson was awarded National Firm of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards last year and is pleased to increase their focus and profile in Kent with us.

On to our second new addition – welcome to Lee Bennett who joins us as our shiny new branch manager and is just a bundle of energy with a can-do attitude and a big book of contacts.

She will be joining this month and has more than 10 years’ experience on event management, project management and media relations.

A beer and business day out on Friday, April 25 – what’s not to like?
