KENT Online has been praised in awards handed out at a top media industry event.

The Kent Messenger site was given a "high commendation" at the prestigious 2004 Newspaper Awards in London on Wednesday night.

Kent Online was named in the Best Weekly Newspaper On The World Wide Web category at the event, hosted by Dead Ringers star Jon Culshaw at the Hilton, Park Lane.

The top award in the category went to the website of the Scottish newspaper, the Sunday Herald.
