An app hopes to turn the love of a pub quiz into a digital smash.

Quiz app Kuizu allows plays to engage in a battle of wits with prizes up for grabs each week.

It has been developed by West Malling's Dan Mortimer.

By selecting the categories they want to play, players then aim to answer the questions in a set time in order to be entered into the draw to win a prize.

Since going live in July, over 32,000 games have been played by keen quizzers, with 64 prizes already awarded and dispatched.

Mr Mortimer, from Ryarsh, said: "I’ve always loved quizzes and trivia games; from the weekly pub quiz to TV game shows. I wanted to create something fun and innovative that rewards players, an app that people could engage with anytime, anywhere, either on their own or with friends and family. The Kuizu app does just that and we’ve spent over a year perfecting the game.

“You play for a real prize, one that you’ve selected yourself, so it’s an ideal way of grabbing that gadget you’ve had your eye on, or nabbing the perfect gift for a loved one."

The app is free to download for IOS and Android platforms.
