Off-licence chain Bargain Booze has opened its first store in a Kent town, creating six new jobs.

The franchise on the Shepway Estate in Maidstone has been launched by Tracey Town, who owns nearby Coxheath News shop.

She held a grand opening two weeks after receiving the keys to the site, which had been under the same management for 36 years.

She was able to refurbish the premises after securing £140,000 of funding from NatWest.

Ms Town said: “The deal has provided us with an exciting opportunity to establish the shop as a local, welcoming and trustworthy shopping option to the Shepway community.

“NatWest’s support during the deal has been invaluable, and we’ve been impressed with their service from the beginning to the end of the process.”

NatWest relationship manager Joella Bosworth said: “We are always happy to support a business that cares so much about the local community that it operates in.

“I wish Tracey the very best of luck, and look forward to seeing the business thrive in the years to come.”
