Build-a-barrow boost for IIP

A CORPORATE activity day at Brands Hatch will be the highlight of the first Kent Investors in People Week.

The action-packed day on Friday, September 27, will be aimed at organisations that haven't already committed themselves to achieving the standard and it will include some great games and challenges.

These include building and racing a 2CV car, an It's a Knockout style auto gymkhana and a blindfold Red Barrows build-a-wheelbarrow challenge.

The team building exercises follow a morning session examining the business benefits of Investors in People (IIP), giving the invited audience of Kent's leading business people a chance to find out more about the staff development standard.

Sharon Davies, Kent IIP Week co-ordinator at Business Link Kent, said: "This is not only an opportunity to enjoy a fun day out, it is also about getting more information about the hugely successful Investors in People standard, asking questions of Business Link Kent's award winning Investors in People team and networking with fellow business leaders."

Other activities during the Kent Investors in People Week include an awards ceremony for organisations that have recently achieved the standard and workshops on managing high performance in the workplace and ensuring a healthy work/life balance.
