Cash to build firm foundations

KENT Architecture Centre has been awarded £110,000 to help the community.

The centre in the Historic Dockyard in Chatham has been given the money by the Government’s advisor on architecture, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) after a successful bid.

The money will be used to deliver a building connections programme, which will include training sessions for teachers to help them develop knowledge about built environment issues and the use of development sites to engage the community in neighbourhood change.

Chief executive of CABE, Richard Simmons, said: "Architecture Centres have a crucial role to play."
