A construction contractor is expecting a big boost in turnover after landing a place on an £8 billion government housing scheme.

United Living, based in Swanley, has been appointed to the Homes and Communities Agency’s new four-year housing framework.

The agency appoints 35 suppliers in each of five geographical regions across the country for its housebuilding programme.

The average house price in Canterbury has spiked by 29% in a decade. Stock image

The Kent firm has been appointed to all the areas: North East Yorkshire & Humberside, North West, Midlands, East and South East (excluding London), and the South & South West.

Chief executive Ian Burnett said: "We’re excited about working with local authorities, public bodies and our registered provider customers to bring forward the much-needed homes the country needs."
