Tickets for the second annual Kent Business Summit are proving popular as the countdown to the event in January gets under way.

Organised by the University of Kent's Kent Business School, it is held in partnership with the Institute of Directors, Federation of Small Businesses and Locate in Kent.

Among those confirmed are a number of the county's MPs, leading inward investment agencies, entrepreneurs and a host of academics bringing key research findings into the mix.

The inaugural Kent Business Summit took place in January this year

University of Kent vice-chancellor Karen Cox said: "The first event was very successful in bringing together academics, businesses, government bodies and representatives from other key private and public sector organisations for a discussion on how to develop and sustain economic growth for our county.

"Given the challenges and opportunities that 2019 will bring, I would encourage as many people and organisations as possible to attend what promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking event."

The key aim of the one-day event will be discussions on how to sustain economic growth for the county - with the implications of Brexit, in whatever stage this is come next month, likely to be on the agenda.

Tickets for the event are on sale now - priced £25

This year’s presentations focus on Kent’s transport infrastructure, attracting businesses and visitors, productivity and innovation and skills development.

They lay the basis for round table discussions, where guests will analyse the issues at hand and draw up concrete action plans for 2019. A summit report will be produced post event and made available.

It runs on Friday, January 11, in the Sibson Building at the university's Canterbury campus, from 7am to 2pm.
