A RURAL Economic Forum is being set up by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to give out-of-town businesses a chance to discuss issues and capitalise on opportunities. Agencies such as the National Farmers' Union, the South East England Tourist Board and others will be invited to contribute ideas and information to help the rural economy moved forward.

Cllr Peter Davies (Con), from Benenden, is a prime mover in the project. He said: "We hope to hold our first meeting in June, when we will develop a structure, identify priorities and the issues that the group needs to address."

Anyone interested in joining the forum should call John Lister at the borough council on 01892 554220 or e-mail him at: john.lister@tunbridgewells.gov.uk
