Downing Street welcomed the boss of a Kent estate agent in thanks for a series of mammoth cycling, swimming and running efforts planned for charity.

Ward & Partners managing director David Lench and his wife Vivien were welcomed by Samantha Cameron at No.10 on behalf of children’s charity Action Medical Research.

The Faversham-based company donated more than £30,000 last year and plans to raise more than £100,000.

In June, 88 three-man teams from the firm and other companies within its parent group Arun Estates will compete in the Blenheim Triathlon.

As well as meeting the Prime Minister’s wife, David and Vivien also met broadcasters Fiona Bruce and Davina McCall, the latter preparing for a 1,000-mile bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in September.

Action Medical Research’s head of relationship fundraising Toby Tennant said: “We are incredibly grateful for all the amazing support we have received from Ward & Partners and the rest of the Arun Group over the years, and we wish David all the best for his epic ride in September.”

Arun Estates has donated £9m to good causes over the last decade.
