Clothing retailer FatFace has opened a new larger store at Bluewater shopping centre.

The 7,753 sq ft shop is on the upper Rose Gallery and includes the brand’s womenswear, menswear, kids and accessories.

Acquisitions manager Robert Moore said the firm was “thrilled to have opened our new statement store at Bluewater”.

He said: “The brief for our designers was to create something different; delivering a store that is not only the very best representation of FatFace, but which also complements our great position on the upper Rose Gallery and neighbouring brands.”

It is part of a growing trend of retailer’s increasing the size of their stores at the shopping centre.

Topshop doubled its space at the mall with a new 27,000 sq ft space in 2014, while Next opened a larger 44,000 sq ft store in November.

H&M is in the process of creating an improved 40,000 sq ft shop, expected to open in the autumn.

Russell Loveland, portfolio director at Land Securities, co-owner and asset manager of Bluewater, said the new FatFace outlet is “consistent with our strategy of creating a number of very special stores where the experience the brand delivers for guests is exemplary”.
