Firm proves its 'fit for tomorrow'

Business Voice, the CBI house magazine with a DVD featuring Canterbury College.

Canterbury College came under the spotlight in May when its business role featured in a film.

Mark Hill, its director of business and associated services, was interviewed in a DVD that also featured ex-BBC director-general Greg Dyke, Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson, author Daisy Goodwin and schools secretary Ed Balls in a Confederation of British Industry (CBI) film about business and enterprise.

The DVD "Fit for Tomorrow" was free with the May Edition of ‘Business Voice,’ the house magazine of the CBI, the influential employers’ organisaton.

The CBI film crew spent a day at the college in March when they interviewed Mr Hill and filmed parts of the new £50 million campus.

The short film looks at how the college engages with the modern business world and also features interviews with Hugo Fenwick, group trading director at Fenwick, the department store, and Dawn Hudd, local economy manager with Canterbury City Council.

The DVD also featured stories about the strategies implemented by British organizations to keep them competitive, business innovation, corporate and social responsibility, skills, carbon footprint and succession planning.

Richard Roberts, marketing manager at Canterbury College, said: "This is an amazing opportunity for the college to showcase its first class products and services. It also provides a valuable insight into our approach to businesses and employers."
