A RECORD number of visitors logged in to an IT expo. Make IT Work, run by Canterbury-based Kent Technology Transfer Centre (KTTC), attracted more than 40 exhibitors and almost 300 visitors, the best ever.

The event was held in Darwin College at the University of Kent at Canterbury. It included seminars on a range of subjects such as the Internet, wireless networks, broadband and software law.

Peter Parsons, KTTC chief executive, said Make IT Work was the most successful the organisation had ever held. "The positive feedback we have had from both exhibitors and visitors proves that this is an excellent opportunity to make contacts from the local business community, create networking opportunities and share expertise," he said.

Exhibitors included web design companies, Internet Service Provider (ISP) experts, training providers, and an impressive display of audio visual equipment with the latest presentation technology products, including a Holographic Screen and Plasmanet. The exhibition was also supported by the Unit for Regional Innovation and Enterprise, a new organisation charged with fostering links between academics and the county's business community, and UKonline for business. KTTC is funded by Business Link Kent.
