Entries are open for the Kent Design and Development Awards, recognising businesses in the property and construction industry.

Held every two years, companies can enter six categories this year, including a new conservation category.

Companies can also enter a commercial, industrial and retail category; environmental performance; infrastructure and renewables; public buildings – education and community; and residential – minor and major.

Goat Lees Primary School was named overall winner of the 2014 Kent Design and Development awards

The winner of each goes forward to compete for the Project of the Year trophy, awarded to the building or scheme with the greatest design quality, won by Goat Lees Primary School in Ashford in 2014.

Jointly organised and sponsored by DHA Planning, Kent County Council, and PR and marketing agency Maxim, the event is in its 12th year.

KCC leader Cllr Paul Carter said: “Since the last awards in 2014, the economy has seen a marked improvement and with it greater confidence in the property industry and Kent as a whole.

“Having buildings that are well designed and exude a degree of professional confidence is important to how we promote Kent.”

The deadline for entries is Friday, August 19. Visit www.kentdesigndevelopmentawards.co.uk
