Lift off for space man

AN AEROSPACE company based in Sittingbourne has appointed a new chief executive.

John Merritt has taken over as head of Aeromet International Plc, based at Eurolink Way. He succeeds Duncan Crighton, who retires on May 31 to pursue other interests.

Mr Crighton was chief executive for 12 years. Mr Merritt was formerly operations director.

The company, which makes components for the aerospace and motor sport industries, employs 125 at Sittingbourne and has five bases across the country.
