Medway's future unveiled

SIR David Frost returned to his Medway roots today, declaring: "It's great to be back."

The veteran BBC presenter was in Chatham Maritime for a high powered conference about putting Medway on the international map.

Sir David lived in Rock Avenue, Gillingham, from 1947 to 1954.

He was a pupil at Gillingham Grammar School, in Third Avenue, now the Robert Napier School.

Sir David told Medway Today: "Exciting things are going on in Medway. I'm looking forward to learning more today."

More than 200 delegates were attending the conference, Medway - The Future Unveiled - being held in Colonial House, Chatham Maritime.

After talks by senior figures, delegates were being taken around Medway by helicopter, speedboat, paddle steamer and coach.
