Mr Chauhan was born and raised in Gravesend. He joined the bank in 2002 at East London Business Centre and also worked at Canary Wharf Business Centre as a senior business manager.

In 2007, he became director of business banking in Dartford and Maidstone, moving on to various senior roles, including a similar role in Canterbury, Dover and Margate since 2009.

He said: "I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to work in these three key areas in Kent and am looking forward to meeting with new and existing customers in the business community.

"Combined with the support from my team in Canterbury, Ashford and Tunbridge Wells I am confident we will build on our reputation locally for supporting the SME sector."

The father of a one-year-old son enjoys spending time with his family, going to the gym, coaching youth football and watching Arsenal.
