New units for old

PLANNING permission for new industrial units at Queenborough is being sought by Sheppey Fertilisers.

Paul Stephens, joint managing director, said: "The old ones are not suitable to let to tenants so they will be demolished and the new ones put in its place. It will take five years at least to sort out."

Mr Stephens dismissed rumours that the company was to sell off part of their land so 300 plus dwellings could be built. He said: "I don't know where these rumours have started. We are a property dealing company of course and we do buy and sell land for housing but in other areas. It's not just Queenborough we are interested in."
