A SPECIALIST security company has won a quality accolade. Adams Rite Europe, based in Swanley, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality accolade.

Adams, a subsidiary of American group Adams Rite Manufacturing, specialises in aluminium and timber security doors, many of which are bullet and blast resistant.

The ISO 9001:2000 standard enhances performance through practical and structured systems and business processes.

These processes are then developed and recorded as "best practice”. They are subject to continuous review and improvement.

Ian Mackay, managing director, said: "Both we and our parent company, Adams Rite Manufacturing in the USA, have upgraded our existing ISO certification to the improved BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.

"We believe that achieving this internationally recognised quality management standard will enable us both to implement a joint quality management system which further demonstrates the Adams Rite Corporate commitment to quality and to our customers."
