An entrepreneur who launched a soothing skincare brand after a life-changing accident will join more than 400 peers at the Women of the Year Lunch.

Jane Healy will join a club including Nicole Kidman, Lindsay Lohan and Lulu, who have previously attended the annual celebration, to be held at the Park Lane Hotel in London.

She created Seacreme last year, a natural remedy using minerals from the ocean, after similar products gave her skin relief from an accident involving a methylated spirt stove aged nine.

The life-threatening event left her with permanent scarring but today she uses her story as inspiration for workshops and seminars for people and organisations looking to seek positives from negatives.

Each guest at the lunch is regarded as a Woman of the Year among the list of 2016 Women of Achievement.

Mrs Healy said: “It was a special moment when I was nominated for Woman of the Year.

“Launching a new business hasn’t been without its challenges, as any new business owner knows, but the launch of Seacreme has undoubtedly been one of my biggest personal achievements of my life.

“I’m looking forward to growing the business over the coming months and years by adding new skincare lines to our existing range.”

Sandi Toksvig, President of Women of the Year, who lives in Whitstable, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming all our guests and winners to the Women of the Year Lunch & Awards in London this October.

“I would love to show the room to every schoolgirl growing up in Britain today and tell them ‘you can be whatever you want to be: just look at these incredible women.’”

The lunch is on Monday, October 17.
