BUSINESSWOMEN are being invited to join a new support group - the West Kent branch of Women in Business.

It hopes to attract members from across the area, including Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Westerham, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Cranbrook.

The branch, launched this month at the Ramada Jarvis, Pembury, was formed to provide self-employed women and businesswomen with support and encouragement in a friendly atmosphere.

Spokeswoman Barbara Saul, a self-employed web designer, has teamed up with a number of like-minded women to form the branch.

She said: "We decided to form Women in Business West Kent after we realised that there was no formal business support group for women in this area.

"Our main aim is to provide support to all women in business. Women have a unique approach to business, which should be encouraged. It can be difficult for women to run a business, juggling responsibilities, and we can benefit from the support of other women in a similar position."

Women in Business was founded nearly 10 years ago as a national networking group for women running their own businesses. A number of branches have been set up across Kent and Medway.
