A new tax and accountancy partnership is hosting an ethical seminar to encourage firms to boost their bottom line while keeping a sound reputation.

Bearsted-based Aspreys was founded by chartered accountant Arvind Lall, a business ethics lecturer at the University of Kent.

The firm is being launched with a free workshop on Budget Day on Wednesday, with a range of speakers from the worlds of banking, finance, fashion, healthcare and security.

Creation Healthcare chief executive Dan Ghinns will speak at the ethics seminar

They include Handelsbanken Maidstone manager Jeremy Brett, Creation Healthcare chief executive Daniel Ghinn, Maidstone-based FSI Worldwide’s operations manager Tristan Wootten and fashion consultant Adrian Foster.

Mr Lall said: “An ethical approach to business has been lacking in many sectors.

“I believe the scandals of recent years would not have happened if organisations and their staff had put ethics at the core of their business.

“Ethical business is now crucial to reputation and profitability.

“It is not only moral but also vital to commercial success in a world where customers increasingly look for honest dealing. They will shun any firms with dodgy credentials.”

Aimed at SME owners, the Only Way is Ethics seminar takes place at Bearsted Golf Club on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm. Details on 07955 345383.
