Top national honours for county's tourism

THREE Kent entries scooped gold and silver medals at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2007.

Gravesend’s tourism and regeneration centre Towncentric was awarded gold in the Visitor Information Centre category, while Maidstone self-catering business Well Cottage and Tenterden vineyard Chapel Down Winery took silver medals.

Kent Tourism Alliance chief executive Sandra Matthews-Marsh said: "This is an outstanding result. These businesses have shone as the best in the South East, and as the best in the country."
