Trainers pass top test

TWO P&O Stena Line freight office employees have completed a specialist award aimed at helping them to train their own staff more effectively in the future.

Juliette Medhurst, 37, and Simon Goodsell, 33, both completed the City and Guilds course Facilitate Learning Through Demonstration and Instruction in six months.

This component of the City and Guilds skills trainer and assessor certificate and involved a three-day course followed by assessments in the workplace, written assessments and production of a portfolio.

Juliette, who lives in Dover, is a duty freight services manager responsible for making sure P&O Stena Line's freight office at the Eastern Docks runs efficiently and also for compiling a training manual and monitoring other trainers.

Simon, from Folkestone, is a senior freight clerk. As well as training responsibilities, he deals with freight movement administration.
