Has the time come to give your bathroom a fresh look?

Here’s why transforming or just refreshing your bathroom can make so much of a difference in your home!

More and more people are turning to fresh or new designs to transform their bathrooms and give them a real wow factor.

Is it time to refresh the look of your bathroom?

A bathroom is so much more than simply a mere maintenance room for life where we very often both start and end the day.

Some say spending time in your bathroom can actually have a genuinely positive impact on a person’s mental health.

A bathroom is many people’s safe haven; a place where they can get away from it all, hopefully uninterrupted.

“If the kitchen is referred to by some as the favourite room in the home, then the bathroom must surely be the most important,” said Richard Tettmar who is a Showroom Consultant at Drakes.

“So it stands to reason that the bathroom needs the same kind of love and attention to detail as any other room in your home, if not more.”

Rectangular vanity mirrors and floating vanity units are very much in fashion at the moment and the same goes for wall-mounted toilets.

When designing a new bathroom, it is vital that no guess work is involved.

Then there are those who want something totally different when it comes to showers and opt for floor-to-ceiling shower glass enclosures or specially-designed open showers with no dams.

When it comes to tiles, long, skinny tiles are quite sought-after according to experts while marble walls and floors are also popular choices in modern households.

“The first thing we do at Drakes is help the customer look at the many different bathroom designs because our aim is to find the right bathroom that suits them.

“We have so many different products and accessories here as well as different designs and options for tiles.

“We offer 3D rendered images of their actual bathroom to help facilitate that process along with the actual products that can be purchased shown in that same design.”

Sitting down with an expert designer is to plan a bathroom is also a great way of getting peace of mind.

Some say spending time in your bathroom can actually have a genuinely positive impact on a person’s mental health.

“It may seem obvious but the first step towards refreshing the look of your bathroom should be to plan exactly what you want and what you want changed.

“You can just jot down your ideas and even take some pictures. Then, just pop into showroom and browse around.”

Having the right colours is also very important.

Colour trends are also a massive factor but colours can also be based purely on the tastes of the individual using the bathroom.

For example, it is said that purple boosts creativity and spirituality while blues and greens can create a soothing and calm atmosphere.

Red, meanwhile, is described as being a colour that inspires passion, power and energy.
