Coronavirus Kent: The 10 places in Kent which have avoided Covid-19 deaths

Here are the places in Kent which have managed to avoid having a Covid-19 death.

Most recent figures from the Office for National Statistics found there were 542 fatalities in the county from coronavirus up to April 17.

However, some areas have managed to avoid the killer virus.

Places such as Newington, Halstow and Upchurch, as well as Birchington, Lydd, Dungeness, New Ash Green, Biddenden, Staplehurst and Wye are all recorded as having zero fatalities.

The area with the highest number of recorded deaths is Cliftonville West, Thanet, which has seen 13 people die as a result of the virus.

The figures exclude deaths of non-residents and are based on February 2020 boundaries.

Figures released last week by the ONS revealed a substantial leap in the number of known Covid-19 deaths in Kent – as reporting accuracy increased to include non-hospital settings.

The figures showed there were 542 deaths attributed to the virus across the county up to April 17, a number 37% higher than the NHS figure for the same period, which counted only deaths which happened in hospitals.
