11-year-old seriously injured in crash

Another lorry has overturned at Cowstead Corner roundabout, Sheppey

An 11-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash on the Isle of Sheppey.

The boy from Minster was riding his bike outside the Sheppey rugby club when he was hit by a car on Lower Road in Minster at 4.45pm on Saturday.

He was taken to a London hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The driver, a 56-year-old man from Bingley, West Yorkshire, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was later released on bail.
