THIEVES escaped with a valuable tractor after breaking into a building site in a Kent town and police are appealing for the public's help to trace it.

The vehicle was taken from the site on Star Lane, Margate, between 4.30pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.

Police say they believe the offenders unbolted a section of fence, before leaving on the £19,000 green John Deere 4520 agricultural tractor through the Homebase car park.
