POLICE arrested three people following an incident at a roadside cafe in a Kent village.

Officers were called following reports of a burglary in progress in the car park of the Tuck Inn at Hartlip, near Sittingbourne, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

They discovered that a metal container had been broken into and fireworks had been stolen.

Police searched the area and located three people who were arrested on suspicion of theft. Various boxes of fireworks were also seized.

Police say a female and a male have been cautioned in connection with the incident. A 17-year-old from Gillingham has been bailed pending further enquiries.
