Murder squad officers are still no closer to catching Adrian Milner's killer.

A 30-year-old Sittingbourne man arrested and bailed in connection with the dad-of-two's death has been released without charge.

As a result Det Insp Lee Whitehead, who is leading the investigation, has made a fresh appeal for information.

The 48-year-old was punched in the face as he walked home along Church Road, Murston, at about 7.50pm on Tuesday, December 28.

The blow caused him to fall to the floor and hit his head - leaving him with serious injuries.

Police launched a murder investigation after the lorry driver, who was known as Ada to friends, died in the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London 12 days later.

Det Insp Whitehead said: "Mr Milner and his friend Michael Coomber had been for a drink in the New Inn that evening.

"They were walking home when a third man punched Mr Milner in the face. At this stage we still believe it to be a completely unprovoked attack.

"The murder investigation continues. I would urge anyone who has information in connection with this matter, no matter how trivial it may seem, to contact us immediately."

An appeal was aired on the BBC1 programme Crimewatch on March 31.

It featured interviews with Adrian's brother Duncan, his girlfriend Gemma Stuttard as well as CCTV images of his last movements and potential witnesses the police are keen to speak to.

Det Sgt Richard Le Jeune, who is on the murder inquiry team, also made an appeal for people to come forward with any information.
