POLICE have warned people not to set off industrial strength fireworks which have been stolen from a warehouse.

Thieves took the rockets - intended to be used in official displays - from Hill Park Farm, in Wrotham Hill Road, at the weekend.

But officers have warned that the fireworks are much stronger than normal and need a far greater safety area around them when they are set off.

A spokesman said: "These fireworks need specialist handling and care. The public should not attempt to use these fireworks."

Anyone who is offered a firework which they suspect could be one of those stolen should contact Det Sgt Cordier at Tonbridge Police on 01732 771055.
