Former Kent treasurer Alister Dunning will be their new president for 2010.

Mr Dunning (pictured), 69, held senior legal and management positions with Pfizer during his career.

His voluntary appointments have included being treasurer of the University of Kent (1998-2004) and honorary treasurer of Kent (1998-2009). He is also a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent.

He said: “I have been a supporter of Kent County Cricket Club since I was first brought to the St Lawrence Ground as a child by my father.

"I am thrilled and honoured by my appointment as the club’s next president. I look forward very much to continuing to support the club during my year in office.”

Kent’s President for 2009 Carl Openshaw said he was delighted Mr Dunning had agreed to take on the role.

"He has given outstanding service to the club over many years in his role as treasurer and his advice and support to his colleagues on the committee has been invaluable," said Mr Openshaw.

"I wish him every success for the year ahead and look forward to introducing him as my successor at the annual general meeting in March 2010.”
