Water Garden

Exciting changes are planned for Central Park to include a Victorian theme.

Although the plans for the park are not yet finalised developers have said plans are in place to add more attractions to Central Park.

Green Issues Communications has park-side cafes and restaurants built within the main Lowfield development.

But plans are also now in place for a new park cafe, to accompany original plans for a bandstand and proposed water play area. A tranquil water garden, unveiled in last week’s Messenger, is also now part of the proposals to provide a link between Central Park and the residential areas. Much of the park’s redesign is being handled by Dartford council.

Building Heights

After the exhibition in February, Green Issues Communications admitted concerns had been raised over 10-storey buildings.

The pebble-shaped flats are to be built on the Fairfield Pool and Leisure Centre site.

Visitors to the LowfieldVision exhibition earlier this year were given two options for the flats:

One was for an undulating height scheme which would reach a maximum 10 and a half floors.

The second option was for the blocks’ heights to be kept the same, a height of seven storeys.

Following feedback designers are opting for the second option at a maximum seven storeys.

Central Park security

Also being introduced is 24-hour security in Central Park.

At the exhibition, Green Issues Communications revealed plans for round-the-clock security for the park.

Visitors to Lowfield Vision’s exhibition in February requested more security.

Developers hope Central Park will become one of the main features of the new development.

They believe the concierge-type service will give greater security and an added sense of safety to residents and park visitors.
