AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy is one of the youngest people in Kent to pass his GCSEs.

Daniel Savage, from St Peter's in Thanet, picked up an A grade in maths and a C in statistics.

For the past two years Daniel has been studying alongside 15 and 16-year-olds at Dane Court Grammar School in Broadstairs.

When he joins the school next year he will begin a maths A level.

He said: "I wasn't too nervous about the maths, I was more worried about the statistics because I find maths easy."

His father, Jason Savage, 49, the Mayor of Broadstairs and St Peter's, said: "We were rather hoping he would do well but to find he got an A was brilliant. We're just getting to grips with it.

"I would have been anxious about him studying at secondary school if I didn't know Dan. He is very determined and very capable."
