Former Dartford striker Cody McDonald will return to the club with Norwich in a pre-season friendly on Saturday

Loan signing Cody McDonald will wear the vacant number ten shirt for the coming League 2 season.

The striker (pictured) will wear the shirt that brought Simeon Jackson 42 goals during his two and a half year spell at the club.

Gillingham announced their official team numbers on Monday, naming a 24-man squad.

Another change around up-front sees Mark McCammon handed the number nine jersey.

Manager Andy Hessenthaler recently challenged him to be "the main man" at Gillingham and appears to be giving him every chance.

Hessenthaler is still keeping an open mind on his attacking options and has been chasing Aldershot’s Marvin Morgan.

Curtis Weston will wear number four while player/coach Nicky Southall has been handed a squad number at 20.

New striker signings Andrew White and Stefan Payne will wear numbers 22 and 23 respectively, with Danny Spiller taking 17 and Tony Sinclair 19.

There is no number 13 at present and that is expected to be filled by keeper Lance Cronin, when he completes his move to Gillingham.

Gillingham are expected to take delivery of the new playing kit this week, ahead of the official photo-shoot on Thursday morning.

Squad 2010/11: 1 Alan Julian, 2 Barry Fuller, 3 John Nutter, 4 Curtis Weston, 5 Simon King, 6 Garry Richards, 7 Kevin Maher, 8 Mark Bentley, 9 Mark McCammon, 10 Cody McDonald, 11 Andy Barcham, 12 Chris Palmer, 14 Luke Rooney, 16 Josh Gowling, 17 Danny Spiller, 18 Danny Jackman, 19 Tony Sinclair, 20 Nicky Southall, 21 Dennis Oli, 22 Andrew White, 23 Stefan Payne, 24 Dean Rance, 25 Connor Essam, 26 Jack Payne.
