A motorcyclist who was struck by a lorry while pushing his bike is still in a serious condition in hospital four days later.

The 46-year-old biker, from Margate, was left fighting for his life after the crash on Manston Road in the town on August 26.

It's believed he had been pushing his broken-down bike when it was in the crash with a 7.5 tonne white lorry travelling in the same direction at 2.35pm.

It had been raining hard and there was water on the road, police say.

PC Guy Miller, leading the investigation, said: "We are keen to establish the circumstances of this collision and would like to speak with anyone that may have seen the incident or events leading up to the collision as they could help with our investigations."

The injured man is now said to be in a serious but stable condition. The lorry driver wasn't hurt.

Anyone who saw the collision should phone the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit's witness appeal line on 01622 798538.
