TWO robbers stole £50 from a couple while they were walking home.

A 37-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were approached by two men in Jackson Field, New Road, Chatham, between 10.30pm and 10.35pm on Sunday.

The suspects demanded money from the pair and forced them to sit on the ground. One of the men hit the man on the back of the head and when the woman screamed the other man pushed his hand over her mouth.

The suspects were reported to have stolen a blue rucksack from the couple, which contained £50 and bankcards. The man and woman suffered minor cuts and bruises in the incident.
