BRITISH Transport Police are appealing to members of the public for help in recovering items of jewellery left on a train last month.

The owner of the property has offered a reward for the recovery of the items.

BTP Det Con Allan Thomson said: “On Thursday, 26th April, 2007, a passenger travelled on the 1511hrs London Victoria to Faversham train.

“He alighted at Bromley South Railway Station but left a small white paper carrier bag on the seat of the train. The bag was approximately 8 x 6 inches with white rope effect handles.

“It contained expensive watches and jewellery which were of great sentimental value and it is assumed that the property has been stolen as it has not been recovered.

“The owner of the property is offering a substantial reward for information which may lead to the conviction of those responsible and /or recovery of the items."

Anyone with information can contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40. Alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
