Part of a city housing estate was sealed off on Wednesday afternoon after reports that two men had been seen with a gun.

Armed officers were called to an area of Tennyson Avenue off Sturry Road shortly after 1pm and arrested a 26-year-old man for possession of a prohibited weapon.

Police were also searched two houses and were still at the scene as children began being collected from and arriving home from school.
