A 35-year-old man has been remanded in custody following an incident at the Tesco Extra supermarket filling station at Westwood, Broadstairs, on Saturday.

Philip Charles is charged with causing arson and recklessly endangering life.

Charles, of Crossways Avenue, Margate, will appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, May 15.
