FOUR weeks of overnight work to extend the safety barrier situated along the A2 at Cobham, near Gravesend, has begun.
The task continues until December 21, is to lengthen the central reservation’s metal barrier by 500 metres.
This will help protect road users along the 2km (1.24 mile) stretch of road by separating the two carriageways. The work is being done overnight between 7.30pm and 5am Monday to Friday.
During this time the third lane will be closed on the London-bound and coastbound carriageways at separate times.
Ing Fisher, Highways Agency area manager for Kent, said: “This fence will support road safety along this stretch of the A2. We ask road users to allow more time for their journeys while this work takes place."
