POLICE are searching for an angry driver who got out of his car wielding a baseball bat after a near-collision with an 18-year-old.

Maidstone and Malling Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at the junction of Hall Road and The Avenue, Aylesford, at about 8.45pm last Saturday.

The angry man swerved in front of the teenager's red Vauxhall Nova, forcing him to stop, after the two cars nearly collided.

The young driver got out of his car to apologise to see the older man, in his late 30s or early 40s, running towards him with a baseball bat. He then snatched the teenager's car keys and drove off, shouting abuse.

The thief is described as large and about 6ft. He was wearing a reflective jacket and driving a blue or grey car. Anyone with information should call police on 01622 608189.
