B&B murder: Youth remanded in custody

A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 30-year-old man at a bed and breakfast guesthouse in Chatham.

The dead man has been named as Caerwin Ankers. He was found dead at around 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday in the top-floor flat of the Phoenix Guesthouse in Maidstone Road.

A 17-year-old from Northfleet appeared before Medway magistrates today and was remanded in custody until Tuesday.

A second man was interviewed in connection with Mr Ankers' death but was released without charge on police bail.
