POLICE are hunting a man who attempted to abduct a five-year-old girl while she was playing the street.

The incident is reported to have happened in Windmill Road, Gillingham, at around 6.45pm on Thursday. The girl was playing with her older brother.

The abduction was averted when a woman walked past, causing the man to run away.

He is described as being tanned, aged around 30, 5ft 8in tall and of skinny build. He had long dark hair and a 'slight' moustache. He wore glasses, a black jacket and black trousers.
